Extra-curricular activities:

Fruity tunes: every Thursday at 10:45am-11:20am

We have a wonderful team coming in, to do some music groups with the children.

At all our sessions, we aim to create a relaxed atmosphere where the children are free to sing, move and play. We want them to have fun and be stimulated – we have a variety of different instruments, puppets and props for children to enjoy and all sessions end with bubbles! these sessions are led by a Fruity Tunes music co-ordinator who visits your nursery school to give a specialised guitar led music lesson for your children. The sessions enable children to explore musical instruments and music theory – we are happy to use cross-curricular learning for any themes that you are teaching.

Abc sport stars – They will be back in march to get us all moving again! Watch this space!!

Exciting news!!!

Parent link:

Staff are currently trialling this app out on tablets, and this should be up and running soon, with parents being able to access their children’s daily diaries and track their development.

Please visit first steps website for further information: https://firststeps.software/products/firststeps-parent-link/

What is parent link?

FirstSteps Parent Link will enable you to engage in two-way communication with your nursery. You can also review and comment on all the information from the nurseries FirstSteps Monitor App and access you child’s Learning Journal. Other options will include allowing you to view your Account Status and previous invoices. Parents can view daily diary entries, including ‘What I did today’ entries from the main screen on their child’s details. Parents can also view their children’s observation history which will show the Polar Chart depicting the child’s current progress within each learning area. Alongside this, the parents will be able to view the individual learning areas and their corresponding ability levels.

World book day

Are you as excited as we are?

For this year’s world book day, we request all children to dress up as a character from a story! All staff will be joining in too!

We will be making cakes, having a story party activity and reading lots and lots of our favourite stories.

Ofsted:

As parents know, we had an inspection in January 2019, this report is now in the parent room, along with our required action plan that’s already in place, sections have already been corrected and sent of to Ofsted who are happy with our progress.

Peter has already been in contact with a lot of parents in regard to our rating.

Please pop into the office, for further information.

Inset day

We will be having an inset day on Thursday the 4th of April, so the nursery will be closed to children, this is important for staff to get up to date on recent and changing training.

This allows us to train all staff in one go for maximum impact in gaining the knowledge the staff need.

Because we are one for 51 weeks of a year, we only close for 3 nursery days over Christmas, we are allowed 2 inset days a year, to help with training.

If you require any more information regarding this, please speak to peter.
